would be, of course, in the interests of

United Kingdom trade if it could be

assured that the plant, etc., for this

and any other factory should be obtained

from this country, and I observe that in

the case of the proposed China Aircraft

Company, Limited, such an assurance

accompanied the application.

6. Finally, I may say that I share

the view which you have expressed that,

in considering applications received

subsequently to that which was made on

behalf of Messrs. Pawley and Dodwell, it

would be only fair to give a further

opportunity to the earlier applicants.
